Core Science and Additional Science - Cardiff University?
Hello... (I want to read medicine hopefully in Cardiff University)

Im just asking if someone can clarify something for me as i am slightly confused. I have looked at Cardiff University' prospectus and it shows GCSE requirements for science double award and tiple award etc.
I recieved an A in Core Science and an A in Additional Science...
Does Cardiff University accept Core and Additional Sciences?
If they do are they 2 seperate grades? On my GCSE results they are shown as 2 seperate grades but people have been telling me that only the Additional Science grade counts due to the fact that its more difficult than the Core Science.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

not sure if you knew this but the double science award is basically core + additiional. so your dual science grade is AA. btw, additional is slightly harder than core but they are both given a whole GCSE grade so they carry the same weighting as far as i know.

Orite, sorry i didn't know that to be honest as i thought on the results slip double award is shown with both grades together ex: AA
but my science grades were shown seperate.. One above the other.
As well as this i asked my biology teacher about this and he told me that the sciences that i am doing are not a double award... :s
Thanks for the reply!!

yeah, my grades were like that too, but it didn't say "double award", just core beneath additional.
if you did core science then additional then its the double award, if you did further as well then its triple. but if you did separate subjects like biology GCSE and chemistry GCSE then its not double. but from what you said you should probably ignore your bio teacher since its pretty obvious its double <_<GKT 1st Year Medic!
