I went to Wales last year for a bio field trip.. I nearly cried when I looked at the road signs, because I couldn't pronounce a word.

I'm still having trouble choosing!
I think I might go with Bristol, if only for the fact that I said I was only gonna apply to places in England...

Hey guys... just looking for a little bit of help because the prospectus is so vague for Cardiff (well and for a lot the medicine courses). Just wondering is the stuff about the course that was put up at the start of this thread in 2005 still valid or has a lot changed?

As far as I know the structure of the course is roughly the same - a few changes were enforced for the 1/2/3rd years of the course but that was mainly assessment changes. I graduated 6 months ago so it may have altered slightly since then.

I'm a current 4th year and it was all the same for me. Haven't heard of any major changes in the years below either.

Please note, current 4th years and above are running on a different curriculum from the years below according to the School. You may have noticed that certain parts about the course structure and curriculum has been removed from the website, this is because the School is currently revising and improving its undergraduate programme following recommendations and the results of the National Student Surveys. As such, details may not be available for a while.
I'm not sure about the progress of clinical school changes at the moment. Perhaps a 3rd year would know better.School of Medicine

I know they've changed a bit for our 3rd year... We still get taught 'Medicine/GP', 'Medicine/CVR' and Rheumatology/Orthopaedics/Surgical Systems, but we get them in 8 week blocks, with a fortnight of lectures between them.
...hope that makes sense!xxx Gem xxx

JD: I think that the baby itself would serve as proof that it was.... you know.... born...
