What AS and A Level grades would Be the Best for Cambridge?
What sort of A level and AS grades would stand me in good stead for Cambridge and is it best to have 3 sciences to full A level? I've looked at the prospectus but what grades for AS and A level would give me the best chance? (Bearing in mind my GCSEs are not great).

After searching the internet, I found the Cambridge Medicine Entry Requirements page, which you may find helpful
Summary:
As, Bs and Cs at GCSE in Double Science and Maths
A*AA in three sciences (or Maths) at A level. Must include Chemistry
You must also do the BMAT
Note that those are minimum requirements, most applicants will have a string of A*s for everythingLast edited by Chwirkytheappleboy; 20-02-2010 at 07:28 PM.

think he was asking about AS/A levels XD
@OP: I think some colleges want all sciences, not sure about that, but if you are ok with doing all sciences then go for it but if you don't want to, then you can choose 1 non-science AS and drop it at A2 and still end up with 3 sciences at A2. Cambridge usually hands out offers of A*, A, A, so you should be aiming to get that at A2.GKT 1st Year Medic!

Yes, I would definitely advise doing 3 sciences/maths to full A Level.

I would do Chemistry, Biology & Maths as a minimum. Physics is good too, but an additional humanities subject wouldn't hurt.

Would biology, chemistry and psychology be OK? With maths at AS.
Presumably applying to a college not on the list of ones that want 3 sciences would be alright. But would one be disadvantaged with only 2 sciences?Yr 1 Cardiff Medic

Well "technically" you wouldn't be disadvanted as long as you applied to a college that didn't require 3 sciences. However... it's risky IMO. If you look at the prospectus, it says something like "the vast majority of applicants are studying 3 sciences/maths at A Level", so I'd imagine you could be a bit disadvantaged really.
