How do I go about my grades?
I feel really down, and yes, scarily suicidal. I have not got great gcses for medicine, I just don't know how to have a chance anymore. I don't know what I should do. Last time I felt this bad I ended up in hospital, I really don't want this to happen again. Everyone at my school i've asked whos applying for medicine has 12A*s or 10A*s and one A, I just have 3A*s 7As and a B. I know these grades aren't terrible, but they still are bad compared to applicants for medicine.
What do I do now? Do I have a chance still? I have no hope if I can't even get some good grades at gcse :[
Ach.
Any ideas are muchlyyy appreciated.

Why is this in the Cambridge Section?
Ideas? Get out more... As Gizmo rightly stated, you seem cut off from reality.
Sorry, but you get no sympathy from me; you're just being stupid.
If you're feeling 'suicidal' over something like this, maybe Medicine isn't for you...Last edited by magpie7; 09-11-2009 at 03:59 PM.

GIVE ME A BREAK drama queen or king lolz I am not being harsh but child honestly your grades are AMAZING..........Cambridge? Well yeah maybe it might be a lower chance but there are SO MANY other medical schools you can apply to with those GCSEs........don't worry, be practical, it is not the end of the world. People feel like that when they get a low UKCAT score, but they DO GET IN.........so relax and calm down, u still have Alevels togo. If you let yourself feel like that now, your going to find it very difficult to cope with other aspects of your application. And may I repeat YOUR GRADES ARE EXCELLENT enough.
Applied for undergraduate 2010 (A100) at:
Oxford - Interviewed at Somerville and Trinity - Rejected
Glasgow - Interviewed 01/12/09
Edinburgh
Aberdeen
Strathclyde (Biochemistry and Pharmocology) - Unconditional...Atleast the fear of 5 REJECTIONS has been terminated now
UKCAT: 655
BMAT: 4.6, 5.7, 12 = 22.3/33
*Have never cried secretly in my room so much before! All thanks to UCAS!*

If you are seriously suicidal because your grades are not the same as others applying (but still high enough to apply and not the most important part of your application) then I really suggest you seek some help to build up your coping mechanisms before you apply to medicine.

haha are you serious...please get in touch with reality lol. in my school the highest anyone has got is lower than your scores, most medical schools would accept you, and maybe even Cambridge or Oxford if you push yourself in your A-levels.
