Oxford and Cambridge.
I'm looking to apply to medicine next year and I am currently undecided between both Oxford and Cambridge medical schools. I am aware of Cambridge being more renowned for the sciences, whereas both universities have strengths in many other areas fluctuating my decision. I'd be greatful if anyone could give me some insight into Cambridge life and any known differences between Oxford and Cambridge medical schools. Thanks in advance.

Take a day trip and visit them. Coming out as a medic from either institution will speak for itself. Or if you fancy being a little different, do your preclinical in one and clinical in the other.
From what I have heard from a few medics in my ward who went to one or the other.....Cambridge preclinical is more anal with anatomy......Oxford clinical is apparently more thorough.
But do some research for yourself and see what floats your boat. Course details, options for intercalated degree, support from the colleges, feel for the town.......Cleaning bums in the NHS for now
