I don't think data used from 2003 incl MVAT and BMAT with part 1a is a good enough sample to make conclusions. Part II forms your tripos degree and this has not been used in this study. I am sorry to disagree with you, but I don't see the point in introducing endless entrance hurdles; BMAT, GAMSAT, UKcat...to make up for the A Level sham that its become.
The best indicator for tripos results is hard work, no special test and out dated data to tell you that one

Lol I don't mind that you disagree, I'm sort of arguing for the sake of it really. But well, the thing is, when A Level don't differentiate, I think it's best to use an aptitude test like the BMAT. The fact it appears to correlate well (I believe less emphasis was placed on it until they determined that it actually was useful) with tripos success can only be a positive.
