    A101 - Graduate entry with 2:2

    Hello All

I've been reading about the entry criteria for the A101 at Cambridge Uni, and it states that 2:1 is the minimum, but that a 2:2 is accepted in some circumstances. There does appear to be some flexability. On MedschoolsOnline.co.uk it stats that in the 2004 intake 10% of students had a 2:2.

I have a 2:2 in Geography and Computer Science from 1993, so quite a long time ago. Also, I didn't have any extenuatling circumstances as to why I "only" got a 2:2.

I'm wondering if I stand any chance of actually getting a place on the course with a 2:2. It was so long ago, and since then I have:
    • Had a weekly commitment to a young boy who is in the care system for the last 3 1/4 years
    • completed an A-Level in Human Biology last year (don't know of the grade yet, but will be really disappointed not to get an A)
    • work part-time as a Nursing Assistant at the Bristol Royal Infirmary for the last 6 months.
    • knuckled down in my career of IT, and setup my own business

I am revising at the moment for the GAMSAT for possible entry to Nottingham or St.Georges, but really want to keep my options open.

If anyone has any advice on trying to get into Cambridge with a 2:2, or have actually managed it, then I would appreciate hearing from you!

    thanks
    Stu

There's also a student of the 05 intake who got a 2:2 many years ago. Don't let it put you off. Do call the admissions tutors at the 3 colleges and do apply. Good luck.
