Smile So how were the interviews?

I had both my interviews at St. Johns yesterday. I had such a good time!!! not just at the interviews but in and around college with the current students and other interviewees, such a gud night!!! but... bak to the interviews.

I think they definately went well, perhaps not well enough... its hard to gauge. They certainly asked very probing questions... and the more i answered right ( to questions which i thought were very very hard and that wud impress them!! the harder the questions got) like "And Mark what hormone controls extra red blood cell production in hypoxic envirnoments and where is it produced?... and me going "Oh, your refering to Erthyropoetin which is by far the main hormone produced in the kidneys" thinking oh yeh that was smart and then they go even more in depth lol - aw well......

Anyone else had their interviews yet? How did they go? without giving to much away obviously

Listen dont wory caretaker. Just remember scientific facts like the one markjay mentioned have little or no bearing on your interview experience. After all it is a very low level answer as all you are doing is recalling something text book style. In some ways they would prefer to see you logically work things out.

Remeber its not what u know but what u can be taught. Im sure if markjay refered to the hormone as EPO you would immediately remember it being the banned substance used by some athletes. If i can give you one tip it is whatever you are talking about make sure it is interesting. If you want to go down the scientific boff route then they will find you out, they will ask you more and more in depth and detailed questions until you dont know the answer. Then when you dont know the answer thats where they really decide what u are made of.

    Red face Dunno Really

Had my 3 interviews for medicine at Caius today. Don't really know what to think of them. I felt wuite good abotu all of them which I don't know is a good or a bad thng

I got a decent BMAT score though (7.6, 7.0, 9.0), but seeing that some people got inhumanly high scores, I don't know how much of a difference that really makes

Hey the caretaker - I wouldn't worry about not knowing enough background knowledge - my questions were quite specific because I mentioned in my personal statement I liked endocrinology and they seemed quite happy to talk about something new for a change. But they are always going to ask at least one question you couldn't know the answer too - after all they have to test the extent of your knowledge/reading and also how you deal with that type of question. My BMAT weren't overly impressive, well i though they were OK until I talked to the guy being interviewed before me and then... well.... suffice to say he got nearly full marks compaired to my 6.0, 6.7, 7.5.
Thanks very much Kwekubo good luck too!!!! You'll be great!!!

Had mine yesterday at Pembroke. I kind of enjoyed the academic one, not sure about the non-academic one. Overall though current students very friendly, and I felt overall it went OK - so fingers crossed! And good luck everyone!
