any Cambridge clinical students who were from St Andrews..?

    as above.
how did u get in? did u do an intercalated year at st andrews? (i.e. spend 4 years at st andrewS)

the new course at st andrews will earn one a Bachelor of Medical Science (honours).
is that enough to apply to cambridge clinical school?
    goodbye st andrews & manchester,

    Hey,

I know i guy called Alistair who is doing his clinical in cambridge from St Andrews. He did a 4th year in St As so graduated with an honours degree and then went on to Clare College two years ago.

    So yeah, its possible!

Yes it's possible, they take in anyone with an intercalated degree so long as they judge their preclinical course to be sufficiently similar in terms of content to theirs. A few people I know in Cambridge didn't do preclinical there, including one person from St. Andrews - apparently the next intake will have 5 from St Andrews plus a few other outsiders.

wow thats excellent news , although that means leaving ur friends that u have made at st andrews.. but its never confirmed that u can get to the same clinical hospital as them, as everyone is all split up at manchester.

any details about these st andrews students over at cambridge? will the new st andrews 3 yr course that award the bachelor of med sci (honours) be enough for entry?

any contacts of those students? could e mail me at jeffrey_leow AT hotmail

Have a look at http://www.medschl.cam.ac.uk/admissi...uirements.html (i would have used html but the forum doesn't support this).

Jeffrey - if you don't mind me asking, if you're so hung up on Oxbridge why didn't you apply to those unis in the first instance?
I don't know if the new 3-year BMedSci will be enough to qualify you for entry - email the school (contact details on the site which igakunogakusei has kindly provided a link to).

well i guess i just wasnt confident. i only have 3A's in a levels, in phy chem maths, i do not have s papers distinctions etc. they only give 2 places to singaporeans for medicine if im not wrong and u have no idea how many RJC (the top jc in spore) students with 4A's and 2Distinctions apply there every year...
moreover , its a pain to take the BMAT.
wont apply again, for i may not get into st andrews the 2nd time round...

Hey, I asked this question to the dude at the Emmanuel Open Day and he says you need a first but didn't really elaborate - he said it's perfectly possible though.
