Applying to St, Andrews with AABB at A2?

    Hi,

I'm considering applying to St. Andrews this year but only have an AABB in Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Maths respectively.

    I have 9 A*s and 5 As at GCSE and a UKCAT average of 695 (VR 610, QR 770, AR 660, DA 740)

I also resat a couple of AS modules during my A2 year and am obviously taking a gap year.

Do people think I stand a chance as I'm applying during my gap year and have only AABB at level and not AAA?

    Thanks.

I've read on another forum that they rejected candidates for 2009 entry if they weren't predicted AAA, so I'm not sure if having AABB would disadvantage you? To be honest, I doubt it would since their offer is AAB anyway, but you could check to make sure.

    Good luck!

i think you'l be alryt coz you've already met their offer requirements, so it wouldnt make sense if they rejected you soley coz of that.

i'm applying there this year, and i think they said on their website that their offer is aab but most people who are successful get predicted aaa
as you already have more than aab, you should be ok, maybe you can email them directly to double check

Hi I know I am late to this thread, but just for anyone else that is wondering, I just graduated from the Bute a week or so ago, and was accepted 3 or so years ago with 5A*, 5A,2B at GCSE, and AABB A-levels in Chemistry, Maths, Biology and French. Oh, and around 600 average in UKCAT (can't really remember). I think that St Andrews are willing to take on people that are perhaps a little different, so if you have a good and interesting personal statement in your application, and do well in interview, you still have a chance!
