What group is everyone in? It would be good if we could find someone else in the same group as us.

Have you guys been allocated groups? Don't think we had until freshers week. Also have you all seen the line up for freshers week? Interested to hear what you think. Interesting? Fun? I personally think it looks a bit underwhelming but i'm interested to hear what you guys think..

Yes our group number is on GALEN. I have seen the medicine timetable and the general timetable for freshers. There seems to be an awful lot of things. Do you have to go to everything on the medicine timetable??i mean for example the workshop for activating your computer account and using it? I've already activated mine.

Yeah all that stuff is irritating but I think some of them are compulsory. Its nothing too heavy really but we complained last year that we hadn't been able to participate with the other freshers and join sports/societies etc. Sounds like they have done the same again though. The only good thing about it is you will be ready for week 1 when you get straight into classes. Try and have as much fun during orientation is what I would say

I konw this might sound a bit silly, but where do we go when we first arrive at St andrews? Do we head for the accommodation first or go to some sort of reception to register attendance?

no need to worry. You will find the Bute has got you all in most of the time during orientation week so you will get to meet everyone pretty quickly.

Oh and go to your accommodation first. Finding your bed is definitely the most important thing!

I'm just reminiscing! it seems like a long time ago that I started at St A, four years ago! I know it seems very scary, but they are all ready for you - I know, I have spies on the inside, really, just relax, they're pretty prepared for you not having a clue where you should be and when and all that. They go through it every year, and won't let you get too confused! Try to work it out though, as they'll like you better for sparing them more grey hairs! Everybody is going to be very nice to you I promise, maybe except Prof. Guild, who might scare you but I suspect his bark is worse than his bite so don't take it too seriously. Uncle Jim and Auntie Susie will take very good care of you next week and make sure you know how everything works. Good luck people - and enjoy it while you can! I've got exams in 2 weeks 2 and a half hour written paper and a 24 station clinical exam all in the one day, so just enjoy being there, you'll have a great time.
