accomodation during vacations
hi all! sorry if my question would appear juvenile. because i'm an international, i'm quite concerned about accomodation during the christmas and spring vactions since most halls don't provide accomodation then. doesn't make much sense to return home since air tickets are quite expensive. where do internationals go during these vacations? thanks a lot

DRA let you stay, as does the ghetto and albany i think.
Otherwise you may want to go traveling.Second year medic, St-Andrews.

Never heard of anything.
I'd guess if you could persuade them you were a pole who'd clung to the bottom of a truck to get there you might get board in exchange for working 120 hours a week, but frankly i'd forget it.Second year medic, St-Andrews.

Ever try potato harvesting? St Andrews has some classy hotels and bars so you might want to try your skills there first. I don't think we are allowed to say things like that about our Polish brothers anymore..

As much as I love the poles (frankly who aside from the working class whom they ousted from jobs doesn't?) they are a great source of amusement. Less so here than at home, supposedly 40% of southampton is polish now.
Yes there are lots of bars etc, but i'll bet you and gavin a pint (thursday, raisin, tennents {i'm broke}) each that you won't get bed and board for bar work over christmas and easter. I reckon its self catered or nothing for you frankly, if getting home over holidays is that problematic.Second year medic, St-Andrews.

I think that there are strawberry farms that give people lodging but don't think they are in st andrews but somewhere dotted along the A90 (i think its that road) but I wouldn't really recommend it....wel atleast I wouldn't do it!
If I can remember from the form! its the self catered halls which let you stay in the holidays as well as new hall catered and John Burnett the Annex (which are the most expensive halls i think)2008 Reapplicant: 5 unconditionals

Wouldn't the strawberry farms only be an option during the strawberry harvesting season, that being over the summer if i remember rightly.
