I had a bristol interview on feb 20th and my gcses werent amazing.......1A*, 7As and 2Bs. From my knowledge, bristols selection for interview is mainly down to your personal statement. They compare your statement to those in your "batch", usually between 30 - 50, and select the top 10% for interview normally. Obviously, if one batch is amazing then more are called and vice versa.
Concerning gcses, I think bristol just want to see a decent crop of results, not all A*s.......hence me getting an interview. However, I know that can not be said for some medical schools such as cardiff, southampton and birmingham. DON'T APPLY THERE UNLESS YOU DO HAVE ALMOST ALL A*s!!!!!!
where esle have you/ looking to apply to???

yay a competition that doesnt involve braggin about who has the best gcses (i always do miserably in these) yeah bristol are solid! theyre not tawts who rule out 90% of applicants by setting rediculous hurdles, cos they cant be arsed to sort thru all the applications.
i got v similar to smiliestar, i got 1A* 7As and a B
the B was in maths
.... meh well
u thinking of applying ashley?

Just curious but why would you want to know that? Have you had an interview with Bristol or been offered a place?

bristol dont actually hav ne gcse requirements on their web site (that i can find) i think this is interesting as most of the other med sculs require As in sciences at least Bs in maths and english etc. this obviously shows that they are quite personal statement/ reference orientated, which i personally think is the way it should be (obviously a certain amount of intelligence is needed and helps tho, lol.)
oh and i got four A's at AS if thats of any relevance.
