Has anyone rejected an offer from bristol???
Has anyone rejected an offer from bristol yet?
I have currently been put on th holding list (maybe pile) after an interview at bristol and I'd be interested to know if anybody who got an offer chose to reject it in favour of an offer from another uni.
I know there were alot of oxbridge applicants on my interview day on the 21st of November who mentioned that bristol wouldnt be their first choice if they were to get an offer from bristol. I am just trying to get a feel for my chances here, given that the more people who reject their offers the more chance there is for those of us on the holding list.
Is anyone else in this fortunate situation to be rejecting offeres????

Yeah Bristol's a popular choice for people applying to Oxford. Means that being on the reserve list at Briz probably leaves you with a higher chance of getting an offer than if you were on one somewhere else.

Sorry I'm talking rubbish. It won't matter to you how many people reject their offer as they will still make the same number of offers. This will always be based on a careful formula of % of people that usually reject the offer and % of people who miss the grades. This would probably only change if a higher than average number of people began rejecting Bristol.

i dont no, but i shud imagine after interview they give a couple of ppl offers strate away, reject sum strate away, and then the rest which they hold, they put on a big list of those ranking the highest and lowest, using those ppls gradings from their application and interview. they wait until every1 has been interviewed and then look at the list agen. Say they want to give x number of offers away, they choose the first x number of ppl on the list and give them offers. i dont *think* its dependant on sum1 not accepting their offer, but rather where u rank wen all the interviews are over.
thats my thoery nehoo
best a luck! will hopefully see u there!Last edited by Tinks; 28-02-2006 at 10:46 PM.

I didn't know they do this, it seems unfair to keep you waiting. I know soton did this last year. a friend of mine was called the day after results day o say he had been accepted! I don't think that's bristol style though. My friend didn't hear until may from here.

Just thought I'd let you know I was also interviewed that day! Also on the maybe pile, still waiting! Judging by last years figures, the majority (i think 90% or something near to that) of people who got an interview got an offer aswell, so I think at this stage our chances aren't as bad as you may think!!
