Bristol Clinical Anatomy Summer School
A one-week summer school for undergraduate students training in healthcare professions.
The course is designed as a tour through regional anatomy, with emphasis on clinical applications: anatomy that will help students to understand how the body works, to examine patients effectively, and to recognise abnormalities. The course would be useful to any student studying a clinical discipline, including medicine, dentistry, physiotherapy, chiropractic, osteopathy and radiography.
The course will be taught the 'Bristol Way', with small group teaching by medically qualified Demonstrators, using prosections, models and medical imaging.
The course will run from Monday 25th July to Friday 29th, from 9am to 5pm each day, at a cost of £250 per student for the week. Students should make their own arrangements for accommodation (please see link below). Any student applying must provide evidence for enrolment on a suitable degree programme.
Outline of the timetable:
Monday: Introduction & Thorax
Tuesday: Abdomen & Pelvis
Wednesday: Upper & Lower Limbs
Thursday: Head & Neck
Friday: Neuroanatomy & ReviewLast edited by mommd; 26-05-2005 at 12:54 PM.

I personally do not think it would be worth anyone who is going to Bristol attending this course... I'm sure it will be very good, but you get excellent teaching in your first year anyway, so theres no need to pay for it.

That puts my mind at rest, I was worrying about having to take a week off work and how I was going to pay for it! Thanks icemaiden

Oh yeah, don't mean to worry anyone about this. It most definitely isn't compulsory... This is really meant for non-Bristol students but I wasn't sure which would be the correct forum to post it in.. perhaps it should be moved.

I would move it, but then I may be accused of advertising which is prohibited! Also, excellent though it is I can't see the point for any medical student... your own med school will teach you to the standard they expect, and then there are other more appropriate courses for higher level anatomy teaching.
Just to reassure anyone coming to Bristol that the anatomy teaching is *absolutely incredible*. At times it will feel like the bain of your life as there is so much to learn but it is rewarding to know it and useful! So sit back and wait for September!
