She said that realistically, only students with an average of 65% from all years and above are looking at getting an interview as there are many students with much higher averages.
She said this doesn't mean that students with a lower average wouldn't get an interview but they have had many more applications than last year so they are having to be quite tight when giving interviews out.
    Hope this helps,

Hi guys. Millietwigg, do you know if they just take the average of the three average scores from each year or do they take into account the weighting (ie. the score for third year will count more and first year like not at all?).

I've applied to BSMS, Cardiff, UEA and Queen Mary's, all 5yr ones. Got a rejection from UEA mid december but that's all. Nothing from the others yet though. I've given up I think, already going through what I can do instead (this being my 4th application!).

    Hi McWiseguy,
I have no idea if they will literally take an average of all the scores or whether they will account for weighting. It would be favourable for me if they looked at the weighting as my first year didn't count towards my degree classification. I think that it only appears to be Brighton whittling down the numbers by using uni scores. I think this is unfair but hey, we have other options.

Don't worry about the rejection, I was rejected for the Barts GEP last week. So annoying.... my UKCAT was just out apparently (678). What was your UKCAT score? I have an interview at Barts 5 year next week with my score and I'm sure that someone with a score of 670 is having an interview on the same day.
Fingers crossed that you hear something positive soon

Got a letter today saying that I am on the reserve list, ecstatic it isn't a rejection but of course I am still totally nervous. I am trying to remain positive though!

Hi millietwigg, my ukcat score was a disappointing 627.5. (It was 642.5) last year! ) Not very optimistic anymore though!
