It seemed to go quite well, but I guess I'll find out soon enough...

Hi kdichard, best of luck. I have an interview at BSMS next week. Any tips for the day would be much appreciated! Can you remember what they asked you? Any killer questions?! Is the interview personal statement based? Thanks so much for any help!

    Hey guys,
It was a pretty standard interview. It's semi-structured in the sense that they will ask you questions and, if you like, you can take them off into a different direction - it's not all serious question-answer question-answer.
They were really quite tough on me, but they did ask me what qualities I think I had that would make me a good doctor, and also why BSMS. Apart from that, they grilled me on my work experience & asked me questions there was no way I'd know the answer to unless I'd already been to medical school!
But they were very friendly, I could tell that it was the way I approached the questions that was being analysed, not whether my answers to impossible questions were correct or not.
They said they had 4 more interview dates after my one, but I'm not sure when they are!
The BSMS students are lovely - so friendly, so easygoing. The only grad there being interviewed on our interview day was from Sussex Uni, but everyone else seemed to be from around the place - a few from London too.

No proof of work experience was needed - you literally arrive, go to a talk, go for a tour and have your interview - very simple.

I think a tip I would give is to smile and be confident, even if you are faced with a difficult question. They ask a huge range of questions, so I can't really advise on what they had ask. Though do know your statement very well! They like to talk about work experience too, and throw in a couple standard med school interview questions like "why you" "why bsms" "why not a nurse?"

I hope that helps guys, good luck!
