Thumbs up advice needed about bsms and ukcat

    hi,
i have just completed my a levels with the following grades: phys (A), maths (A), bio (A), chem (B, but was only 4 marks off an A) and gen studs (B, but i dont think that matters). gcses i had 7A*, 2A, B and C in french. I am taking a year out this year to get some experience basically. i did the ukcat last year and i had 572.5 (if i remember correctly) and this year, even though i have been practicing, i think abstract reasoning is gonna let me down and there is a good chance that i am gonna end up with a similar score.
i have a few weeks worth of work experience in hospitals/surgery.
do you think i have a good chance (more than 70%)?
sorry about the long post and thank you for your time.

hey, i just started BSMS and was told that there were over 2,500 applicants and only 140 of us made it....thats odds of about 1 in 17. to be honest though, if you fill your gap year with really good work experience and get your UKCAT average up to over 600, i can't see why they wouldnt interview you. I has AAAB at AS (B in biology), so i was in a fairly similar situation to you grades-wise. My UKCAT was just over 600 average (612 i think) and i got an interview in november.
best of luck mate, hope to see you at BSMS soon =)

    Hi!
I am finishing radiology course in Portugal and I am interested to study medicine in Brighton Medical School.

I visited your site and I read about the admissions but I still have one doubt. In my case, finishing the radiology course this year, I have more advantage to entry in Brighton medical school?
I do not have a (A) level in biology and chemistry, I have (C) level in these two disciplines.
The disciplines I have in my course radiology, wich are more similar to Biology, are biochemistry, cytology and biogenetic.
    Thank you for your time
