Changes to the Graduate Entry?
When I was looking at my applications this year, I was very tempted to apply for BSMS but when I had spoke with them on the phone, their initial reaction at least to my questions about graduate entry is that while they do take their applications into consideration, they felt it was very tough to get into and that they felt that the only way entry would really be possible is if I was a non-science background and did an entry course, or had good a-levels despite my degree. Obviously, if you had low a-levels and had a 2:1, that would be just as acceptable as long as your a-levels were of a particular standard. They also said that they would not take post-grad qualifications into consideration this year.
However, people I know there have since implied that next year, their entry requirements will differ and if not, definately the year after. With the rise of graduate entry into medicine, the criteria has to change to cope with the balance as I understand that BSMS's grad entry isn't particularly high at the moment and in future, they will take grad degrees into consideration. Do you know if any of this is true? I have only heard good things about their course."The Brazilians were South America, and the Ukranians will be more European." - Phil Neville!!

I'm not sure about this but i think they may consider PhDs (but not masters) instead of your first degree and a-levels, i thought in that instance a-levels were ignored.
However, in the normal grad route then a 2 i is sufficient, and a-levels are considered but if they are like BBB then that's ok-with 2 i (don't know what the lowest acceptable grades are maybe c's are ok?). If degree is 2 ii then a-levels have to be AAB or better.
This is how i understand it. Lots of grads on this site have interviews so they obviously quite like grad applicants.
Hope this helps a bit, though you may have known it all already! The FAQ bit of there website makes clear the entry requirements.

Cheers Tinsel,
I was actually aware of that already (well mostly). I actually also spoke with them a while ago which is what lead me to post. I wish they'd look at Masters and i don't know why they don't!!!
I thought their grad intake wasn't very high though? That's what I was told?

I think that their grad intake is proportional to the number of grad applicants eg 10% of places are grads and 10% applicants are grads, so competition for places is much the same, but grads are competeting with other grads, not school leavers. This makes it all fair at least.
I think they will look at masters, but won't accept a masters instead of a 2i. So a 2ii with masters won't be considered. But a masters can only enhance the application of an applicant holding a 2i.
