I had an interview at BSMS on Nov 5th too, and I have just got a conditional offer which I am over the moon about! I applied to UEA but have heard nothing at all so I doubt I will be getting an interview there. So is anyone else going 2 put BSMS down as their firm choice??? I think I am going to, I was seriously impressed when I looked around and Brighton seems a really cool place to live. Which campus is best to live on, Brighgton or Sussex???

Had my interview on 5th Nov too. Did I meet you Haz? I can't remember who I met etc.... but everyone I met: current students, wannabe drs like me and staff were all so nice I loved the place and so was ecstatic  (understatement of the century) when I got an offer WOW! Will probably make it my firm choice. Still waiting 2 hear from other unis: UWCM, Southampton & Penisula. but think I want to go to BSMS anyway. Haz, or any1 else thinking of making BSMS their first choice, I'd love to hear from you. It would be great to get to know some guys before arriving @ BSMS in Oct. Just gotta get those A grades now!

I don't remember meeting you Laura, but I might have done and just not known who you were or forgotten! I think I will be making it my firm choice as I loved it and was so happy with getting an offer. Have u had your Hep B injections yet? I am going 4 my 1st lot on Monday. Do u know which campus u are gonna choose to live on? I thought Sussex was nicer when we looked round so I mite put that down on the accommodation form. I am so excited about next oct I can't wait 2 get to uni!

    Hey Guys,

Give me a break!!! Winchester's cool! Okay it's foggy @ the moment! Granted! But it's a great place to live. Expensive? Dunno :!: Isn't anywhere in the South expensive to buy and if I'm gonna be a student for the next 5 years, house buying is definitely not something I'll be worrying about. Winchester is just such a cool place to live – I guess that reflects in the prices!

And my mum is NOT a Sunday school teacher! What did I say??? My opinions on abortion - ummm. Did a rabbit on about that? ops: That's a very personal and sensitive issue - not for discussion here. Things are never black or white – depends on the circumstances. But yeah, it was me you spoke to. I probably did waffle on and on – it’s kinda scary, Farhia, that you can remember convos to such detail. Was I really that dogmatic? Put it down to nerves!! I’m just wondering what else I said now…..

Give you a break? i wans't nasty.. if i wanted to be nasty i would give you the comfy cushion treatment.

I never said i didn't think Winchester was cool, there are places i prefer <cough> Portsmouth <cough> Southampton <cough>
But yes Wichester is very expensive even by South Coast standards.
How old are you Laura? House buying becomes more of a priority when your looking at needing somwhere to live for your 30's rather than when your in your teens.
Anyway i bought a house when i started my first degree and that meant i didnt have to pay rent for 4 yrs. Soooo much more money for other thing (text book <cough>).
So was looking at doing the same again.
Anyway Looking out the window now ... Winchester seems to be the foggiest place ever

The rooms on the tour were Brighton and we ran out of time to look @ sussex I think.

The fact that its a new medical school means that all the lecturers are really enthusiastic, everything is new(the building, PC suite etc), and you can make suggestiuons on how to change things. For example our tuesday sessions haven been cut by 1 hr so that we have more time to get to our afternoon placements.

The one thing I really noticed on my interview day was how nice everyone is, the relaxed atmosphere and the enthusiasm. I didn't get this from any of my other interviews.

Furthermore nothing has changed, we are now in our second module at bsms.
