Oxford BMAT
I found on a website that if you have half A* at GCSE then you need to be in the top 20% BMAT scores to get called to interview, dilemma here is that I have the Irish Junior Cert not GCSE but half my grades are A so does that still apply to me?
Also what would the top 20% be? Is there anyone here that got called to the interview who would be willing to tell me their score? I'm using the How to Master the BMAT practice book and I'm getting about half of sections 1 and 2 wrong

and I have no idea on how I stand on the essay, I just hope a good topic comes up!
Anyway the point is, should I keep wasting my mid-term break desperately trying to improve my score or just do something fun?

i tried improving my score and gave up and now tbh stopped panicking. no point giving urself a headache but CONTINUE TO WORK HARD, its only 5 days away. I also dun have GCSEs so I need to be in the top 40% who apply. I am not sure from your post whether you did GCSEs or just got half As in the Irish Junior Certificate. If it is the latter than you also need to be in the top 40% people who apply for the bmat score to be shortlisted. I have checked this up with oxford btw through an email. It even says on their website somewhere.

No I didn't do the GCSE at all. Top 40% is slightly more promising than top top 20% thanks!!!

ROFL at you siggy (*Have never cried secretly in my room so much before! All thanks to UCAS!*)

I have looked over the Oxford admission stats. You probably know how they weight the bmat sections 4S1+4S2+2S3=Total
Given that Oxford offers 150 students/yr I calculated and if you score over 66 you get in the first 150 students. So if you get 6,6,10.5 you really stand a chance there2011 Applicant
UCAS sent:
Oxford St.John's A100 - Rejected 30/11/10
St Andrews (M) A100 - Interviewed 16/2/11 Rejected
Dundee A100 - Rejected 16/12/10
Queen's A100 - CONDITIONAL! 6/5/11
King's C700 - Rejected
BMAT: just...poor
UKCAT: AVG 672.5
