Yeah I got a different question, but here they NUMBERED it instead of LETTERED it (I'm pretty sure the question was called question 3 here), so oh well.

hmm well i suppose to mark the essay, they are going to mark it on its own merits right? so it doesnt matter if we did different essays
but still not fair to give a different set of essays now is it...
oh and another thing the crab question, did you just fill in the three circles on the same set? ahhh they messed bmat up good dont u think? This YearMedicine:Imperial, Birmingham, Leeds & Durham

Well I suppose it's all the same anyway... Collegeboard (which administers the SAT) has been giving out different essay topics and no one has been complaining because of the fact that essays are marked by merit not by topic. I think.

what sort of things did you include in your essay on the oath?
i chose the essay because i thought it was the one i could write most about but i still didnt have that much 2 rite lol
Patient Trust - More information gained from patient etc...
Times to divulge information - cases needs consulting - ie court case/staff or to family members when patient is not capable of making decisionsThis YearMedicine:Imperial, Birmingham, Leeds & Durham

i did the third one 3 / C.
My main point was more pragmatic than ethical. I said that if the right of confidentiality was not put in place, the patient might not divulge all the information, hence hindering the process of diagnosis.
I thought that might be a bit cynical, but that just the way i am lol. (a wannabe Gregory House)
The counter argument to this was when the doctors had what i called "an ethical and moral obligation" to refer the case to the police. I said that this should only be done in the event of a patient harming another persons human rights in a crime (murder, rape). I explitcitly stated that drugs did not come into this category, as the person was only harming themself as opposed to other people.
conclusion: That the doctor- patient confidentiality of the hippocratic oath must be upheld at all times in order to provide a better quality of healthcare and for ethical reasons as doctors are privy to a lot of personal information. However when the moral obligations of a doctor deem it necessary for the directive to be broken, it must be so.
Had a pretty crappy ending, not like my practice essays. Pretty sure i also misspelled one word. o well.
Can anyone think of anything else we can add to question 3? BTW THERE IS POINT in talking about this, as they ask you how you can improve on the essay at interview.
