I have a 2:1 in psychology, masters in neuropsychology, and have been working for the past 10 years in the NHS as a medical devices rep: training and supporting regs and consultants on hip/knee replacements/spinal implants and more latterly on pacemakes and ICDs/CRT-ds. Last year I did a conversion course in psychology, because B'ham said that they would accept a psych degree, but only if it conferred GBR, so did that whilst working full time, and managed to get a merit....thereby satisfying their desire to have evidence of recent academic achievement. My UKCAT was 662.50, which Warwick said was fine (and they have interviewed people with scores around that), but because I didn't list any interests outside academia, they rejected me without interview.
I'm trying to console myself with the fact that next year will be better in terms on timing (my first baby in due in 3 weeks), but still it is a knock to the confidence....I'll be reapplying in October though, and not making the same mistakes again (and am going to study like made for the UKCAT!).
Good luck with your applications x2010:
Warwick GEP-unsuccessful (on ucas track 29/1)
Birmingham 5 year-unsuccessful (on ucas track 18/2)
Bristol 5 year-unsuccessful (email rec'd 12/1)
KCL GEP-unsuccessful (on ucas track 12/12)
No interviews at all this year

I guess if you have a baby due in 3 weeks its half a good thing! how would you have been able to manage a medical degree at the same time as that!
really sucks about warwick - so close!
good luck for next time
thanks, i need it. everytime i look at my email i'm expecting a track notification, life on the edge haha.

Hi,
I rang Birmingham today and they told me they are still giving interviews out and are interviewing till the end of March, which I am rather confused since I only see rejections being given out now. I am still waiting for a response from them. Has anyone received a last minute or late interview invite in March from Birmingham before in the past? I am hoping to get an interview from them but I sense a rejection is coming on its way : (

I think if you have 8A*s or more then you probably will get an interview? Don't hold me to that though.
