Mark Allocation and Weightings
Hey guys,
I was wondering if someoe cud tell me in term of percentages, how much each year in brum medical school contributes towards ur final degree marks.

The important thing that everyone knows is that you need to pass every last module (>50%) to pass the degree. Since we do not have degree classifications, the two things that matter are honours and quartiles. I think you collect honours points if you get over a certain % in each module and modules are weighted depending on size (i.e. number of credits for the module), +25% if module is clinical, +25% if it is in year 3-5. Then if you have over x honours points you get MBChB with Honours. Or something like that. I suppose quartiles are worked out with similar weightings. Plus you can get honours or distinctions (for which you have a viva) in individual strands - or is that only in pre-clinicals? Who knows and frankly who cares?
