GCSE: Let us not dwell on those 10 awful letters.
A2: Chemistry 'A', Biology 'A', English Literature 'A'
plus Spanish and Critical Thinking at AS.
Have decided to put my grades into my signature as I finally can do so without looking retarded...but I feel I should add it took many resits to get there!

Yup.. what it is is that they technically didn't lie because 5 a stars is the min requirement but the catch is it's only 5 if you have a degree already.. if you have A levels it is 6 and if you only have AS then it is 7.. It's really out of order.. They explained it at the open day and i think it is on a more hidden part of the website!

its not 'idden at all. a fcuking monkey could click on the link to read that info, macca.
that said brum do alegedly 'ave a recent istory of changing their admissions requirements last minute, god knows why for what reasonable answer. i've eard answers, but no reasonable answers.
finally its unlikely that brum would not marry up both websites and printed prospecti at furst opportunity, since if they differed and peeple were rejected on the basis of this falsity, they would be a in position to tek legal action against the university, multiplied a thousand fold.Last edited by Gizmo says -; 15-12-2008 at 11:21 PM.

allegedly two years ago or last year they bumped up gcse requirements to 7 A* without updating their prospectus.
i never researched the facts behind this (cos brum has never really interested me beyond that fact thast its a good med skool) but thats apparently what appened to a few peeple."...reminds me of childhood memories,

oooh kk.. yeah that makes sense.. but it seems as if they are open about it but only at their open days!... they did say a number of times that any year they will bump it up again to 8 depending on the applicants that year!
so birmingham is a good med school
? i was scared it didn't have a good reputation compared to the others i applied to... how come you weren't interested in it? I'm deciding which is my favourite at the mo so would be useful to find out the good and the bad from someone as experienced as you
(hehe pathetic attempt to suck up at the end!)

I agree! but i also feel that i will enjoy my time where ever i go and even if i wouldn't i don't think i can predict which one i would enjoy my time at more by the buildings i have seen and the facilities there because they are all great in that respect!
So in the end of the day i suppose reputation for medicine is an important thing to think about... does birmingham have a good rep for med?1. Birmingham- Confirmation- Interviewed-Offer (AAB)
