True... for almost a year i had been sure i was going to apply to Birmingham.. but then i read on the Cardiff website that they don't accept short course GCSE's not even as half, then i panicked and rang Birmingham (because 1 of my 7 A stars is made up by 2 halves).. When i rang them up the first time they said that they didn't count them either so i'd only have 6 and would get rejected.. but i rang back another time to get a second opinion and they said halves were ok... i loved Birmingham so much so i took the gamble

I don't really know what the moral to the story is... but basically anyone can make the mistake- not even that first person i rang at the admissions office knew how short courses are looked at1. Birmingham- Confirmation- Interviewed-Offer (AAB)

Hello stranger :P
yeahh but it was all by luck... i had been sure about Birmingham for so long without thinking about it and then i just randomly found out about other medschools not accepting halves about a week before sending off my application.. otherwise it would never have occurred to me!1. This is where you are wrong Gizmo. If the person had read the prospectus they would have found: 'GCSE requirements: candidates are expected to offer a good range of GCSE subjects at high grades (normally at least five at A*'....
... the person had 6.5 A stars so from reading the prospectus would they really have thought.. OMG i haven't got enough A stars to apply there?1. Birmingham- Confirmation- Interviewed-Offer (AAB)

twinnyyyy!

hmm well i do think the prospectus is kinda misleading, although they were honest about the number of A*s needed on the open day. I guess they shoulda been more clear about short course GCSEs. Anyway good thing u did apply in the end coz u got an offer....keep ur fingers crossed for ur twinny

I agree about the prospectus.. it's actually quite out of order but i have never had a Gizmo argument so i thought i would confront him
... the Gizmo has not responded yet though
don't worry smelly twin! your interview sounded like it went really well! It's getting close to the 3 weeks now isn't it?1. Birmingham- Confirmation- Interviewed-Offer (AAB)
