"Giving advantages to other people", no offence MJK you need to get a hold of yourself here!

Just what is so wrong with the original poster giving a hand to those waiting for an interview!? Absolutely nothing! I remember trying to prepare for my interviews and desperately searching for a bank of interview questions from Brum from which to prepare!

This site is about helping those applying (such as yourself!) to one of the most competitive degrees' out there!

Its a sad and lonely cut-throat world you live in my friend.......

To those who have had offers congratulations! Take some time to celebrate! You've earned it!
And for those who are still waiting to hear back, or to even have an interview (I remember waiting till March for mine!) don't worry, they'll get round to you!
Good luck everyone for the interviews, and don't be afraid to ask a stray med student for a little chat before your interview! We're here to help after all!

Its funny how she waited till she had a confirmed place before she started posting the interview questions huh?

Like you said, this is one of the most competitive degrees out there. I couldnt have put it better myself, in fact you just proved my point for me.

I dont want my chances spoilt because all the coming up interview candidates are going to know the exact format of the interview.

Im sure there are many people out there who agree with me.

Okk... I can see where MJK is coming from about how the person waited until they had an offer so that they were not disadvantaged at all...but there's no point getting angry about it because there's interview questions all over NMM including for Birmingham and I'm sure most of the NMM users look at them anyway...might aswell make the search for them slightly easier

.... anyway on the interview day the 4th year student on the panel came out to wish us all luck and someone asked her when they make their decision about us.. apparently they have basically made the decision as soon as we walk out of the door so i suppose it doesn't make too much of a difference to you

It can be a bit annoying when you think of it in terms of other people getting an advantage over you. To try and reassure you, I had my interview on the 20th and even there people were talking about the questions they had been asked infront of candidates who had yet to be interviewed (to be honest I wasn't complaining at the time because I was so nervous), although I'm sure there is some overlap you won't get asked the exact same questions as the next candidate. For a start that's boring for the interviewers who have to get through lots of interviews that day and secondly, we all have different personal statements and questions regarding that will obviously vary.

And to second what 2009? said, there was about a 10 minute gap between the interviews on the day I went and many people speculated how the interviewers had already decided if you got an offer before the next candidate came in.

Hope that helps.

Yeah you're right I guess, thanks. But still, the principal of what she did annoys me like hell.

You've said here on your personal statement 'teamwork is essential to minimise fatigue in cycling', how is that?"
"How important do you think extra-curricular activities are?"
"I see you weren't very keen on DofE." (I only did bronze)
"Convince us you do something outside of your studies

if you knew these were questions, ow does that give you an advantage?
its like being asked what colour the sky is today?

only if you were a total fcuking idiot would knowing these questions confer you an advasntage.

Yes, I received an offer by post on Saturday and am very very happy. But, the (almost) three weeks waiting for it were a bit nervy. Everyday I would come home and be like, "has there been any post? has there been any post?".

I never said knowing the exact questions, I said the format of the interview.

No need to start getting offensive about it.

And by the way, over 50% of those questions that she posted I got asked, as did my friend who has also had an interview.

So ur college prepping you for interview magically doesnt count as having an advantage over other candidates? The format of the interview is the same as every other med school interview, of which many many examples can be found online! On NMM! Grow up, out of 2000 applicants do you really think many will have read this girls post and "have a greater advantage then you"??!

And the principle of her trying to help fellow interviewees annoys you? Why?!

Im pretty sure wanting to help people is a desirable trait for prospective doctors.......
