Introduction Thread
Hi everyone,
As I am new to this forum, I thought it would be nice to introduce myself. My name is Sophia, I'm currently on a gap year, and I am going to study medicine this October.
Would any one else like to introduce themselves? Where are you from?
Which societies or clubs will you join? Are you nervous or excited?
I can't wait till term begins and I will look forward to meeting you all.Last edited by sophie786; 04-05-2008 at 09:57 PM.

Well its going to be nice to see another gap year student at brum in sept. I'm on a gap year too but it was my choice as i decided to change what i wanted to do with my life after i sat my AS's. I'm from birmingham originally well half of my family is there and the other half is on the other side of the world. I'm not sure which socities i'm going to join most likely swimming or maybe badminton. Other than that, not much really. I'm very good at sorting out my time, hopefully my act will come together for uni. I am so excited-4 months and 2 weeks and 2 days til freshers week. YAY!Medicine 2008 Entry
4th year Birmingham Medical Student- OMG 1 year until I'm an FY1.

Hello Smack,
So what are you currently doing in your gap year? I am working most of the time. I would like to join the badminton and hockey club as I like sports. So do you have any plans on how your going to spend your freshers week?

I'm working now mostly ran out of money then going travelling for 3 weeks to asia. Then going back home to see my parents since i half live in jamaica.
Freshers week it to just meet as many people as possible and have fun cause i wont get that part of my life ever again.
Most likely this summer just to get my brain working again, i'm going to read my alevel notes again cause i kind of feel my brain dying.

I agree with the freshers week and to have much fun. None of my friends have got into Birmingham med school so its a change. The thing with taking a year out is that you end up going brain dead lol. I think I'm just going to read the biology notes or buy a starters guide to medicine.
