Lets get some life into the brum forum!
Come on guys, I made the last post a few days ago and dead silence since then.
Surely some of you came to the open day - what did you think? Were you sold on it?
Were you the fresher moving into douper hall who I managed to send the wrong way completely? If so I apologise.
Joining any societies?
Or does anyone even want to ask (dare I say it...) just how many GCSE A*s they need to get in....
CC
<tumble weed blows past>Crap, it's 5th year. How did that happen?
SSA: Done.
CBM: Coming up. Time to dust off the tweed jacket.

Please don't start asking about A*s at GCSE-I'm not going to answer...

That's a big mistake. You're just giving me an excuse to rant. I just can't think what about.
Is the work load so small in year three that you actively want to spend your time on this forum?
Here's a question... what's the most scary thing that has ever happened to you at UBMS? Did an MRI scanner suddenly appear on the ceiling and fall, missing your head by a centimetre, possibly?
And do you have any duck tales?"Don't get high on your own supply."

I'm doing loads in third year, just check here on the evening to see what (if any) action there is.
Worst thing that's happened to me involves a hangover and a first year small group on surgical resections with a scary cons surgeon.
No duck tales; I'm going to swan off at this point...Crap, it's 5th year. How did that happen?

Dudley. Integrated medicine and surgery. Seens lots of gastro stuff, bit of haematology inpatients (leukaemias/lymphoma), was scrubbed in a hernia repair today; varied! It was definitely worth sticking out the first 2 years for (might help the young ones to remember that!).

The accommodation contract will tell you when to move in, because it may vary between different accommodations. I don't know when it is for Ashcroft. If you're really stuck phone 0121 414 8000

3rd year is a good year actually. U pretty much do whatever u want all year long. My advice to any 3rd years, dont do too much cos they'll be compulsory in 4th yr and somethings are so not worth doing more than once. Captain carrot, if u wanna liven our forum up, find us one of those topics of discussion that gets everyone impassioned (not religion pls)...that should give u something to do when u'r trying not to do work

I would do things for interest rather than anything else. Go to surgery (dont just go to ur own surgeon's), see procedures like bronchoscopic retrieval of foreign objects, go to pre-op assessment and practice taking bloods and venflons, watch ERCP, go to many different clinics (swop with other firms). With procedures, go to them once. Find nice house officers and get teaching from them...they're usually very helpful
