Fair enough, it was just something I was told.

They are a little flexible sometimes. Depends what else you've got to offer. If you're an amazing sportsman/woman or have set up a charity that has fundraised millions, someone might spot that and think you're worth talking to especially if your application is nice and early. Towards the deadline, it all comes flooding in and I'm guessing they wont bother skimming all the other interesting bits

Some more info about the course, and how it is run - probably for those of you who have offers, but could be useful for prospective applicants.

Hallo all!
I was wondering if any ex-first-year medical students at Birmingham could recommend which textbooks I will need for the first year, because I heard now was a good time to buy them second hand, and I'm bored, so I thought I'd make some progress
Are there any that it would just be better to get out at the library when I'm there?
Could you give book titles (please) so that I can search them on Amazon, or if you actually have your own for sale come forward please :P
Also, if I want to find a reading list for Birmingham do I have to email them, because I can't find it on their website (it is possible this is just as a result of technical incompetence on my part)
Danke
(It won't let me start a new thread on textbooks - a weird error report occurs - so I've posted this here)Just finishing 2nd year at Birmingham

Books
Here you go, this link has it all:
Which books shall I buy?
Some juicy information there for you. You definitely need an Anatomy book and a Histology book. In semester, you may need a Physiology book, but the rest are not as necessary.Join the Birmingham MedSoc Freshers 2011 facebook group - Created by MedSoc: http://www.facebook.com/groups/252844784729492/
