I moved house a week and a half ago and I've just found out that Royal Mail have completely messed up redirecting my post i.e. they haven't set it up yet. The last peice of post I got from Birmingham Uni was the letter from the Med School saying Congratulations on your place - turn up on the 25th, read these chapters of Histology text etc. The bloke living in my old house is a grumpy git and isn't likely to bother forwarding any of my post, even though I've asked him to.
Has anyone received anything else? I've tried e-mailing admissions and the med school but they haven't replied (which isn't very helpful). Does anyone know what I should have received? I still don't have a password for WebCT - does anyone else?
I think I've managed to get hold of the right people at Birmingham and they should be resending the information out. If anyone out there could let me know a list of what they've got then at least I'll know whether I'm missing anything else!
Since receiving the letter with book chapters to read, ive received a letter with my student no/web ct login details/online pre-registration & tuition fee payment. After that, i got the freshers pack which has a booklet about medsoc (med school society) and the events going on. So hopefully u should receive those soon, so at least if u would like to go to any of the events, u can apply for ur tickets!
Hope that helps u out a bit, silly grumpy old man in ur old house!! Looking forward to meeting all u guys real soon!
Thanks for that Saz. I got some friends come with me to drop in on my old address and managed to get the grumpy git to dig my post out of the bin! I've rescued both the registration mailing with passwords etc and the freshers pack - so I'm a lot happier now!
Are you going to any of the Freshers events...? I'm not confident of my ability to go out drinking with the undergrads and make the GEC lectures the next day... Sus
Noooo sus, u must come to some of the events! I admit, my late night/early rising talent isnt what it used to be, but u only live once! Think will be going to the hop and riverboat thing, would be great for more of us to show up and show the undergrads we're hot and still got it! hehe! xx p.s. good u got ur mail back from grumpy bum
ok then, twist my arm! I'll try to get a tickets, certainly for the hop. I just hope with the delay in getting my freshers pack that all the tickets haven't gone!
Nice to meet you guys! Not long to go now.
I definitely think it's a good idea for us "oldies" to go to these freshers events, like Samzo said, show them how its done, especially before the real work begins. Our first week lectures can't be that important (I can see myself falling asleep at the back, was pretty good at that in my last degree.....)
We can now finally log onto the GEC webCT, I got very excited looking at our timetable!!!
No one happens to know when the second year begins, if I ever make it that far that is. My current boss has invited me back next summer but I'm not sure when we start back.
I haven't had any mail since Saturday, so I don't whether to assume I've not got an acceptance right away or its delayed in the post....wishful thinkin!!
Hi, I wonder if your books are still for sale as I would like buy a few of them if there are still available, thanks! Could you also give me your email as I think that will be easier to contact you?
Hi Baz

That was pretty much my plan anyway to be honest. Gives me time to save cash and prepare and take on work experiene etc. Il only be 30, and im sure I wont be the oldest...
