meal plan
ive applied for self catered with meal plan. they told me on the phone 2day that ive got maple bank. does this mean that i have 2 now accept the meal plan? the accomodation booklet says "if you are interested in applying for the meal plan please tick the appropriate box (which i did)". i reckon that that doesnt mean that ive commited myself but im not sure... wot does everyone else reckon?? xxx

When I was a fresher 2yrs ago everyone who ticked the 'interested in meal plan' box got signed on to it. They may have changed that now cos a lot of people were not happy about that. Anyway, you can still change your mind about it, some of my housemates did a few weeks into term and they got their money back.

So did ur friends that got signed onto it get told they had 2 take it? If that happens to me I'l just point out that I only said that I was interested and if they won't have it I'l just only pay the price without meal plan!! How does that sound? xxx

Think thats what my mates did, just said they never realised they were signing up for it, and that they just thought they'd be given more information. You might not be on it anyway, so I wouldn't worry about it, as its pretty easy to get out of anyway.

i think its only the catered ones (ie shack, ?chamberlain) where you HAVE to have the meal plan. Avoid it.
Crap, it's 5th year. How did that happen?
SSA: Done.
CBM: Coming up. Time to dust off the tweed jacket.

yeh, i'd try calling. Maple is right next to shack. takes about 15-20mins. Can walk along canal, but could walk in with everyone else down somerset and farquar rds. Or even catch the bus...

About 20 mins from maple bank, and yeah you can walk along the canal, but going via roads is probably a bit quicker.

also the 46 bus leaves (apparently) every 20 mins from opposite tennis courts (just down the hill from maple bank). is free if u show them ur uni card (sometimes they let u go into brum for free too but ur not supposed to). however, have been stranded loadsa times cos is the most unreliable bus in the universe ever.
