Music Scholarships

Hey, was just wondering if any other medics for 2006 entry applied for music scholarships? Wondered if I was the only one?! x

congrats!! I did apply but I live down the road from the uni (and wont live with my parents!) so there were 'other students with greater need'. Basically, if i was a passionate about music as I sed I wud live with mum and dad 2 afford it lol! Or at least thats what they sed neway!! what instrument(s) u gonna have ur lessons on? xx

Ay, well done! I wanted to apply but it said on the website that you already needed to have grade 8, and I'm doing mine this term dammit. Ah well..

Probably voice, cos i got my highest grade 8 mark for that, but i'm really not sure! :-s anyone know what the teaching at the uni is like? i cant decide whether to have my oboe lessons there or in london? xxx

if ur at uni in brum, how cud u have lessons in london? Tbh, id say brum cus the teacher is known to be very good. Her name is jenni phillips and she plays in the CBSO. Her son is in my orchestra and he's an amazing trumpet player. xxx

I hver some of my oboe lessons in london at the mo, so wouldn't be any difference, same travelling time. and I'm in love with my teacher! lol x

London to brum can be cheap on train if you a) book well in advance or b) get the train from snow hill/moor street rather than the more expensive new street virgin train version
