hey
anyone got ne tips for revising biochemistry especially the liver i feel like i'm drowning in glycolysis, gluconegolisis and things ( see i can't even spell them!!) i've got an exam in just over a week and any help/revision tips would be grately appreciated ... spose all i can do is my best !!!!

record yourself reading the metabolic patways, then play back the recording repeatedly....
apparantley this works - though I havent tried it. just done - and, bizzarely - passed an exam covering these myself, so I know what you are up against. I read through them about a million times but it was in one ear and out the other. but the above technique was used by a freind of mine, and she actually knew them. give it a try.
or just do what I did and keep randomly putting in "phosphorylation", "phosphorylates", "kinase" etc, without knowing what you are on about. worked for me.(Medical Student, Durham Uni)

Probably fairly obvious, but I find breaking words down into their component parts and understanding them is a massive help. Gluco- neo- genesis.. etc
I also drew out the flow diagrams until I could do them unassisted. Good luck!

thanks all of you for the tips i'm tryin my best but keep gettin very very distracted but i'm gonna keep going i'm off home on saturday for 5 days of uninterupted biochemistry revision time ... oh how i'm lookin foward to that ! wel betta get my head bac down
