Thanks for the tip. Just a point to note incase anyone with a similar 'non-science' degree is reading this. Geography is acceptable by Barts. I spoke to the Admissions team and sent them my transcript and they were happy with it. It is also one of the degrees listed on their website. For some strange reason they feel it covers enough for AS Chemistry, so I only have to have the additional AS Biology.
Martigan, I think you're right though, I just don't think my score is high enough. I called the Admissions Office this morning and the guy said they consider anyone over 2400 overall but I'm not so sure this is true!

The fact that they allow Geography IS a great tip! It shows its good to challenge. :-)

I was told "around 680", too.

Shame I got 625! Tempted to just apply next year!

There are still other options you can apply to this year.

    Martigan,

Yes, definitely - and for those in the same boat who may be interested, there are a good lot of alternatives out there. For example, I plan to apply to Edinburgh (5y) as there is far less emphasis there. For GEP, there's always Cambridge, Soton and the like.

I just have the issue that studying outside London will be more difficult for me, so planned on applying for Kings and Barts. And I've fallen in love with Barts after the open day, tours and meeting some great current students!

I liked Bart's to. It's especially great if you like EM and Pre-Hospital care, which I do.

However, the was a special buzz that I got from SGUL, who offered me a 4-year place. Because I didn't have the Science degree, my Bart's offer was for the 5-year.

Yep exactly. And the GEP course structure at Barts is right up my street. Also, I live in E2, so right by the Whitechapel campus!

I'd consider applying for the 5y if not for the funding issue for 2012. Sadly, I just can't afford it.

I'm still crazily considering applying for Barts GEP. Part of me just thinks "what if". But I do realise that my score of 625 will be below the top 25%... Dilemmas!
