GenericName, I wouldn't take what someone has said on here at face value. You're best asking again to clarify.
I wont go into specifics, but due to my qualifications and experience I've asked if I can do a few things in conjunction with the course, not research based, and was told a definitive yes, but when an Undergrad friend of mine, who went straight from school asked to do something similar at pretty much the same time to the same people, he was told a definite no.University of Liverpool - Graduate

@ GenericName: Don't give up hope before you've specifically enquired.
I'm not aware of exactly what opportunities there are outside of SSCs, especially outside of the technical BSc year so can't guarantee anything, forgetting the fact that what universities offer changes year to year.
Grads aren't eligible for an extra intercalated BSc. This does not mean they are barred from being enterprising and organising some extra work in research during the summer or something, if they can, for all I know. You really would need to take it up with the relevant people to find out.
And as for what was mentioned in your interview, I can only say that I was asked at length about the research I did in my previous degree, and nothing of the sort was mentioned. It is possible they're selling the same options in a different way to last year, or that there may be new options in research opening up.Last edited by minnako; 26-02-2010 at 10:02 PM.

Thanks for the info guys, I'll ask on the open day and see what they say I guess! Btw TimmyF, I think I've finally decided on Barts over Kings as well
(Assuming I don't get either of the GEP places).
Overall I feel like Barts is just a nicer atmosphere...and the course truly is better suited to me in many respects.
