Anybody got rejections after interview?
It seems that rejections were sent only to those who did not meet the cut off for interview.

Fantastic. Well done all. Any idea when we start hearing from them about arrangements for the start of term?

Timmy, if you don't mind me asking, why did you choose Barts over Kings?

Generic, basically, I wrote a massive answer which has seemed to have been deleted.
But basically I judeged it upon my interviews.
Kings made me out to be liar, and were on a constant offensive in my interview. I did all my work experience there so would have chosen it.
However at my Barts interview I was treated as an individual and really loved what I heard and saw.
So chose Barts. Purely personal.

Yeah I have to admit the Barts interview was insanely nice compared to Kings. Barts seemed interested in really getting to know you and getting the best out of you, Kings felt like I was under attack! I felt like they were poking holes in everything I said...I was truely shocked I got a place.
I'm SO stuck as to which to choose :S On the one hand Kings has a great reputation, but on the other hand, Barts is going up and up; this years intake will be extremely high quality and I know there's a lot of opportunity to do some research while you're there. Also, the new hospital is just gonna be soooo good, might open up a load more places for QM medics to do placements there!
Ahh, I'm praying I get a good result from my GEP interviews so the choice is made for me :P If I don't get either grad place I'm gonna have to make this choice somehow :S

Yeah I'm on a gap year at the moment, just need some time off to regroup and chill out. It's also nice to have some money for a change!

I'm chuffed that Barts is going up in the world
But they deserve it, I think they're trying really quite hard to improve the student experience and even interviews from what I've seen.
As to which to choose, I'd say the 'best' uni will be different for different people. They have very different approaches to SSC/SSM topics, so if, for example, you really want to do not-medically related SSMs, Kings offers a lot more choice than Barts (I know people studying languages at Kings. Languages!). One uni might be easier to commute to than another, for example, and that extra half an hour of sleep might matter. One might have cheaper accomodation, locally at one university rather than the other. Also, you might click more with one uni than the other at interviews, or you might find the social life there more to your taste. Prestige can change a lot over the years you will be at uni, and it's debateable whether two non-Oxbridge universites really have a huge difference in prestige (as opposed to one Oxbridge and one non-Oxridge university), though if that matters to you, it's your business.
Try to think about the pros and cons of each for you. Whatever matters to you is personal, and perfectly OK, even if it doesn't matter to anyone else. At the end of the day, you will become a doctor if you work hard wherever you go. And I do believe that, if you truly want to be a doctor, you will enjoy it wherever you go.~Biomed Grad studying Med 5 Year~
