Getting AAB is the extra effort for moi! Didn't do particularly well at AS and now I'm paying the price...

Work your bloody tits off. I went from BBCC to ABB, missed AAB by a few marks in Chemistry. I know I had a little bit more to give though, maybe if an earlier retake went a bit better etc.
Ah well, sob story over.

Tough break! To many marks to gain from remarks? Or just didn't fancy any remarks?

I got BBBC at AS, so pretty similar to you. Doing more AS resits this January than A2 exams, in an attempt to and rectify things...

Lol the london hospital song is great ^^
It pretty much sums up why you shouldn't go to any other med schools.

I think it's like f_debeder said, it's the association with QMUL that has decreases BL reputation.
I mean BL wasn't my top choice either, I didn't really no any history of the medical school or of K and C until after I applied or even after I got into BL.
I suspect that the increases grades are to get 'more clever' people into BL to increase their reputation. They are building a huge fancy hospital with, i can't even count how many floors. Which will be finished by the time 2nd years graduate. Now they want to set a good example by training competant medics (hence they changed the course structure for this year) so they require an increase in grades.
I think increasing the grades is a good idea, because it will weed out the people who think of BL as a soft option. And will allow them to interview all the people they want unlike what happened to kings last year.

Eh? Sounds like your saying medics trained before weren't competent....your course structure was changed because the year needed to be shortened for homogeneity with the other London schools and the fact that we all complained last year that the course was too easy.

yeah , increase in grades is just to mek the admissions crews job a bit easier, else they would get swamped.

you'd be a fool to fink it was for any other reason.
