It has been said many times on this forum, you cant really be told which uni is better for you, its a very personal decision and you must choose the course that best complements your learning style.
You can check out the course structure of both SGUL and QMUL on their respective sites if you haven't ordered the prospectus:

SGUL is a good place to study, some may argue that it is just medics and biomedical scientists, which is true but I can say that medics tend to stick together (mostly due to the nature of the course: long hours, 5 years, lots of work) so this is necessarily a bad thing. You will end up with a University of London degree from both med schools. I personally chose bart's because of the diversity of the east end and the great medical facilities (plus they're building a gigantic hospital that will hopefully be ready for when I graduate!)
I don't know the SGUL curriculum at all (take a look at Darren A's post) but bart's has a lot of integration (PBL's, lectures, meeting patients from your first term, clinical sessions among others) which I think is a big plus.Last edited by ryangeleit; 13-10-2008 at 04:28 AM.

I would say Barts & The London is better because we beat SGUL in the freshers rowing sprint!

26-11-2008, 05:51 AM #7Hopefully! Looks really nice atm, will be ready for my year when we qualify. However, I am sure it will be extremely oversubscribed that year with everyone wanting to jump on the bandwagon.plus they're building a gigantic hospital that will hopefully be ready for when I graduate!)
I reckon I'm gonna leave London at the very latest after F1 and F2, move somewhere quieter...Oxford is looking attractive!

SGUL has the best teaching out of most med schools in the UK. The reason why it is not as high as in the top 5 in the rankings is because of the lack of campuses/ places to stay and because, even thought it is only 20 minutes away from Central London, there is a lack of facilities directly surrounding it. HOWEVER, SGUL does have lots of facilities aprat from clubs such as the awesome gym, leisure centres and sports clubs as well as the tens of hundred of places to eat.
