No acknowledgement yet
I know it's a bit pathetic, but I'm fed up that I haven't had an acknowledgement from Barts. A lot of people seem to have had them via email, but I've had nothing
. My application went on 11th October.
It's important to me because I've only applied there this year - owing to geography/kids at schoo/entry requirements etc. It's where I really want to go, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I'll be in a position to apply elsewhere next year if I have to.
Also on their website it says in one place that they interview from October to April, but in another place that they start interviewing in January. Which is correct, does anyone know?
Having had to put all my eggs in one basket I'm unfortunately slightly obsessed with my lone application, and it's starting to stress me out a bit that I haven't heard anything at all
Can anyone give me any advice?
Thanks
George x

I'm a graduate applying for the 5 year. I did O levels! - I'm 36 and was in the last year before they changed to GCSEs. I have a 2.1 in English Language and Literature from Oxford (Brasenose College), AAA in English, History and History of Art A levels from 1990. I'm now doing AS Chemistry and AS Biology. I checked with admissions at Barts to make sure this would be enough and they said it was. I'm predicted 2 A grades in the ASs and will do the A2s next year if I don't get an offer this year and reapply to Barts. I'll also do BMAT and apply to UCL and Cambridge for 2009.
These are the only three I could commute to from where I live and my children are happy in school so there's no way we'd move.
I'm just hoping Barts will interview me this year, I simply love it and the course looks more my cup of tea than the UCL/Cambridge ones which are more traditional.
I got 650/620/670/630 in UKCAT - not stellar but fairly solid I suppose. My reference was good too - I've seen it.
The waiting is agony. Do you know when they start interviewing?

Hey George -- I didn't get an email from Barts either -- i phoned admissions who said they wouldn't be sending out any more emails so don't anticipate getting one. They confirmed that i am on their list of applicants. if you are worried, get in touch with them.

Hi tamisz
Thanks for that. I wonder why they didn't send them out to all applicants...? I put in my UCAS application that I was happy to be contacted by email.
You've got me worried now, but I'm not sure if I'm worried enough to call!

good point f_debelder, The Universities will have gotten our applications if sent through UCAS on time. People, applying for Medicine is a long haul, so you need to sit back and take a sedative or else youre in for a very nerve-wrecking year I'll tell u that much now!
All that glitters........
Happy :-D
