I can tell you clearly want this a lot and you really stand out in contrast to many 17 year olds who are in it for the reputation, the money, the glory etc. (not that they're all like that of course). I am not in the least surprised you managed to win a place.

You won't be able to get through a day where someone doesn't make a "she's old enough to be my mum!" joke though.
Right that's it, I'm not going. If people are just going to be mean when I get there I'm not going to go..so there... ;-)

Bring it on you young things..I can banter with the best of em..don't say I didn't warn you....

Never ask a lady her age!! Oh go on then..it's 39 +1...I'm ignoring the one as it's too depressing! Don't act it though so I'll have no trouble getting into the spirit of freshers week!
Respect! That's really great to see you got a place and going to be nice and sociable in freshers! What sort of job were you working in before medicine?

don't worry, I'm in the first year at Barts and there is someone in my year (a friend of mine) who is 45!

Feel free to email me/add me to MSN on free_radical_boy@hotmail.com if you (or anyone) wants any advice or info on Barts!
