Waiting waiting waiting!!!
Hi i am wondering if anyone else is in the same position. I am a graduate applicant to the 5yr course at Barts. I got the acknowledgement letter, sometime in november. havent heard anything since, no interview, no rejection, no nothing. i applied there last year and heard from them late january and had an interview early feb (Obviously wasnt sucessful!). anyway the long wait just seems strange and im wondering if neone else is in the same position, graduate or otherwise. Thanks.

I'm in the same situation you were in last year: heard from them in Jan, just had my interview today (and I'm a grad applying for the 5-year course). I know I'm not really answering your question (sorry!) but I was just wondering what reasons they gave for your rejection...? Did they give you specific feedback or just a generic letter/email...?

cant remember to be honest, but it was def based on interview performance. i wasnt nervous but i stumbled through some questions. like i knew the reasons why i wanted to do medicine but i couldnt communicate it properly, it was surreal. im just wondering really wats up with Barts, even if i got interview and offer its not my number one choice. im working in london at the mo, and i truly dont know how i would survive as a student (soo expensive!!). how do u ppl(students in london) do it?

Yeahhh...bit of a long and boring story really...but I graduated 10 years ago and also, I didn't do A-Levels in school, 'cause I'm Scottish, so did Highers (kinda like AS Level, I think) and then CSYS (Certificate of Sixth Year Studies). Most of the med schools I've spoken to have told me that my knowledge isn't recent enough, even though I got straight A-grades in school...in any case, it's actually a good thing for me, 'cause I'm refreshing all my knowledge and really loving studying again!

Hi Irovonne, I'm in the same position as you, however I didn't apply last year to Barts. I thought about giving them a call as it seems that they have given out a lot of their interviews and I'd rather know now than later! let me know if you hear anything! where else have you applied?

hi gilli, i also did scottish highers and advanced highers but not that long ago!! if i get only offer at barts then i wud def take it, despite the cost of living in london. i guess ill get out a loan too and now im saving like mad, so it shouldnt be too bad. the main prob is that i was looking to getting a property and also wanna get a car b4 i forget how to drive! (licensce for 3yrs, not driven since i passed!) but no chance of all that in london, just too expensive.
