are u an international student or a new zealand/australia resident??

Im from Malaysia, and the person in charge of our applications to auckland said that the univesity has only about 10 places or so for international students per year entering their medical programme..

    Hi Ammar,
It's not as simple as that. I did Health Sciences and I didn't get into medicine but I do know how the process works. You have to get a B+ average across your first year papers, as well as sit the UMAT (which was on 28 July, I think). Based on that you are selected for an interview which takes place in December. They interview about twice as many people as they have places for, so if you get to the interview stage, theoretically, you have a one-in-two chance of getting in. From what I know of Auckland Uni, it is not the most transparent system and people aren't always happy with how they select students for medicine. I hope this information helps you.
