    Help!!!

    Hey,

Just asking you guys a wee favour...

Does anyone know any good pneumonics for anatomy esp relating to branches of aorta etc In our anatomy class we have very few young demonstrators, mostly aging retired surgeons who never use them, but I remeber from my previous degree in which I did a module of anatomy at the lovely Dundee uni we got loads, but that was years ago and i've forgotten all of them

Any help would be much appreciated!!!!!!!!!

Hi there, there's a lot of mnemonics for the cranial nerves at
List of mnemonics for the cranial nerves - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Some are more fun to remember than others

For the arrangement of structures in the posterior compartment of the leg, try "Tom, Dick and a Very Nervous Harry"

That's all I know, hope it helps, remember that Google is your friend... use it!

As for the aorta, it's pretty simple (form what I can remember off the top of my head, forgive me if it's a little rusty), there are 3 main paired vessels, but just think of the organs that are in the abdominal cavity, if need be, draw yourself a little man at the side of the exam paper and take it from there, I answered an exam question on this, not sure if I could do it and I was really pleasantly surprised once I got going!

    good luck!

    Try having a look at:

Medical Mnemonics .com: World's Database of Medical Mnemonics

I remember it was useful back when I was an undergrad.

best of luck! but remember to also learn the Latin, if you learn some basic words you'll be able to apply them to various situations... the whole naming system is really logical!
