Anatomy Book For A Beginner

Afternoon, all.

I'm not currently studying medicine, though I'm hoping to apply in the next couple of years (I'm a mature student).

As I have an interest in anatomy, plus the fact that it might not hurt to start reading about such things, I was hoping that someone would be able to recommend a good anatomy book for a novice?

I'm not looking for something that is incredibly complex, but a book that would provide a good all round teaching in anatomy, whilst being accessible, would be great.

aye, anatomy colouring is good fun, macca.

not too big to carry wif you on a sunny day as well, so you can sit doon for a picnic and do a bit of colouring in while you are out and about.

i got ma copy for 50p in a charity shop hehe

I wish I'd gone through something like Basic Anatomy and Physiology by Ross and Wilson, before I'd started my degree, just to get a grounding in the basics.

I dont think its really all that necessary to read too much reading beforehand (dont let me stop u though!!!). If you are struggling to learn your anatomy, i really recommend Essential Clinical Anatomy by Moore & Agur. Its really manageable and has some very clear concise diagrams that are v useful for exams.
