What's the Pay Like?
I was wondering what the pay is for consultant anaesthetists? Any know or willing to hazard a guess?
Thanks!medgurl

Consultant I shadowed (ITU/anaesthetics) told me £120k. I didn't ask but I guess he just felt like I should know

Google was my first line of attack. All I came up with is "Consultant Scale" to which, I am sure, all anaesthetists have ,when I tried to search current positions in the UK. I even checked the FRCA website to see what the scale was and was unsuccessful there, as well. Arghhhhh!

Is there a particular reason you're interested in pay? A consultants wage is always going to be good, and you should be doing it for the love of the medicine.
I'm trying to make it! ....Very Trying

Love of medicine doesn't pay the bills. I tried telling O2 I hadn't paid my bill for exactly that reason but they still cut me off

I don't think there is anything wrong with knowing how much you'll be expected to make at a certain stage of your career but we can agree to disagree
