I know what you mean, MSc immunology can be overwhelming at first glance as you are expected to learn and understand everything from basics to current research! But I must say that I found it most enjoyable at MSc level (I've just completed MSc Molecular Biology of Infectious Diseases, which course are you doing?) and there is a simple way of "totally getting" the whole subject.
For starters I recommend that you get hold of this book: "Abbas et al. Cellular and Molecular Immunology" it explains immunology very well and I really think that it is THE BEST immunology textbook ever (I've read a few books so this is just my opinion). Read and understand the first six chapters and you'll totally get the basics of immunology! I read the whole textbook during my MSc and supplimented the knowledge with journals (for current research) and I must say that I've walked away with a firm grasp of immunology, I am sure it'll work for you too. The textbook also has a very good glossary and appendix for all the nasty terminology, cytokines, chemokines abbrevations etc.
PM me if you have any specific problems and I'll try my best to help.
I hope this helps a bit.
Best wishes
