If you don't mind me asking, what are your backgrounds? I am 20, turn 21 the 7th September, I left school with only a few GCSEs, RE at A*, English Language and IT at B and Spanish at C, then went back and took four GCSEs this year in Maths, Physics, Biology and Chemistry with provisional results at A*. I volunteer in two hospitals and a charity shop. I've applied for Nicholls.

I asked for a copy of the timetable from the last academic year and assuming this won't change much it was a full day on a Monday and half days on Tuesday and Wednesday (2pm - 6pm)...
Has anyone received a letter from Nicholls this morning? I'm still waiting.. :/

To all who have applied at Nicholls - a letter was supposed to arrive by the end of this week, this hasn't happened so when I rang them this morning they said "oh yeah, it's changed to the end of the month now..." (given that this is about the 4th time they've changed the date we'd be notified I'm taking this with a pinch of salt). :/

In one of them it's just chatting to lonely patients, making cups of tea, cleaning up, but it depends where you get placed. They've told me I can work different areas as I'm looking to study medicine. There are lots of little training courses available as well, like how to deal with elderly patients with no relatives and end of life care. In the A&E you don't get to do a lot as there is limited space so in there it's mostly observing and making tea!
I haven't started in the second one yet but my aunty runs the Macmillan centre there so I'm guessing I'll be talking to cancer patients, and making yet more tea. Which I don't mind, I like tea.

That sounds great, Amyrose. Do you get to see plenty of consultations / examinations? Nothing wrong with making tea - whatever gets you in the door!
Did anyone get around to setting up a Facebook group?
