I'm currently in the process of applying for this course, and on the COWA website it says that candidates will be called for an interactive group session and interview. Does anyone know what the group session entails?

I didn't have a group session, but I've got a deferred place for this year, looks like it's very new then!

Ah okay thanks, looks like I'm just gonna have to go and see what happens (if i get invited for an interview, that is!) What work experience do you guys have if you don't mind me asking, I'm trying to figure out what my chances are as I do have experience but I'm not sure if it's going to be enough compared to other people applying.

I'd guess that this refers to the group talk we had before the interview. It's nothing to worry about. Everyone has varied experience, some loads, some not so much. If you're worried, plan some more before October. They'll tell you at the interview how you can boost your application.

I got a letter inviting me to an assessment day. Does anyone have any idea what the maths and science tests are like?

One crazy course but if Med School is where your interests lie, you have chosen the right course. Emotional roller coaster but persevere..... all the best to all 2012/13 applicants! As Myke said, begin your reading as of now (no joke), be ahead of the game.

The letter i got has invited me to an interview/information session that starts at 9 and finishes at 4 it mentions in the morning you will be tested on literacy and numeracy and also complete a science based paper test followed by a one to one interview. Then in the afternoon there is a general briefing(course outline) followed by an overview.
