I don't know anyone going for this year, but there's a few people who were previously on the perth course on the forum, myself included. I complete the course two years ago. Good luck with your application.

Hi There,
Thanks for your reply, I have read the really good post from one of the "grads" from the Perth course which should give me an advantage at interview if I get one! Can I ask what your background was before you decided to study Medicine and how are you finding it? Where did you go after Perth?
Thanks for your help I'm just so excited and nervous. I needed to vent and chat about it.

I presume that was PTMNO1's post, definitely take his advice seriously, he knows his stuff. My background isn't that interesting, I wanted to do medicine towards the end of school but didn't have the grades or chemistry. After school I worked for a few years and then tried some engineering at college. Decided that it definitely wasn't for me, so decided to try and go for what I really wanted to do. I'm at St Andrews now (the university that perth has the partnership with), just about to finish my second year. It's hard work but it's really worth it. I found the PTM to be great preparation for medicine.
If you get an interview, you really just need to follow the advice you've already read and display a genuine interest in pursuing medicine, don't stress out about it too much, I found the interview to be quite relaxed.
There is a group going on facebook with a few ex-Perth students on it, if you're on facebook I can invite you to it.

Thanks Guys!
Hi Guys,
Good luck frangelico! Hopefully see you in class
( Trying my best to relax and be optimistic can you tell?!)
leemkule:
It's good to hear that I am not the only person who considered it in school but wound up doing a job that really isn't for me. I feel really committed, especially since I've been thinking about medicine as a career for some time now. It really peaked this year and I decided to take the plunge! I do a lot of reading and have some experience so hopefully I'm prepared. I've never been quite so nervous about an application before but I guess that' a good sign because I am so focused on getting a place.
It seems like the PTM has a pretty high success rate and the link with St Andrews is amazing! I have read that those of you who made it to Bute felt really prepared for your first year.
I'll PM you my email so that you can find me on Facebook, I really appreciate the invite.

Hi there!
I too have had an interview and not heard back yet.
It's frustrating, I keep waking up and looking at the clock to see if it's time for the post. Haha.
I had my interview 3 weeks ago and was told I would hear soon.

I know the suspense is killing me....
Hey,
Yeah I've not even been interviewed yet! How did you find your interview? What kind of questions were you asked? I wake up every day waiting on the post too. I can't stop thinking about and just plain wishing for an interview/place! It means so much to me.
Good Luck!
Mel.

Iluminari, I went through the same anxiousness but I think I was more impatient, I just gave Rob Boyd a wee call up to see what the situation was and he told me over the phone that I had a place and would receive a letter in the post soon. Can't hurt giving them a call. Melsapops, I've added you on facebook now and will invite you to the group when you've accepted.
